Cabell County Students recognized in national conservation competition

Elementary and Middle School Students from Cabell County recently participated and placed in the National Junior Duck Stamp Art Contest.
 

Group I

First Place - Kile Minnix, Harlequin Duck, Nichols Elementary School

 

Group III

First Place - Athena Kitchen, Mallard, Barboursville Middle School

Second Place - Jotham Hannum, Merganser, Barboursville Middle School

Honorable Mention - Madalyn Kisor, Bufflehead, Barboursville Middle School

Honorable Mention - Luke Huh, Mallard, Barboursville Middle School

Honorable Mention - Lilly Ford, Mallard, Barboursville Middle School

Honorable Mention - Shayden Ross, Redhead Duck, Barboursville Middle School

 

Students in Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade were eligible to participate in the annual event.  The program gives students the opportunity to learn about waterfowl and habitat conservation, encourages wildlife and wetlands conservation and outdoor recreation.
